About This Position

This entry-level position with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offers a full-time opportunity to join the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP). As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our nation's borders by enforcing immigration laws, conducting patrols, and providing public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce federal immigration laws and regulations at designated border areas
  • Conduct foot, vehicle, and pedestrian patrols to detect illegal activity
  • Intercept and detain individuals attempting to enter the country illegally
  • Provide public service by answering questions and assisting travelers
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge

Skills & Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old and no older than 36 as of the date of appointment
  • Possess good physical condition, hearing, vision, and manual dexterity to perform duties
  • Pass a background investigation, drug test, and polygraph examination
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on irregular schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
