The Opportunity

PAM is seeking a Summer Student to work on the exciting Mackelvie Collection project. This role will offer hands-on experience in human history and heritage management within one of New Zealand's leading cultural institutions. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and sharing of engaging content through various museum activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research, cataloging, and documentation of artifacts from the Mackelvie Collection
• Support in the preparation of exhibits and educational materials related to human history
• Participate in community engagement events and assist with public programs
• Contribute to the development of digital content and online resources for the museum

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for human history, cultural heritage, and museum work
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for learning and a willingness to engage with diverse communities
• Basic knowledge of digital tools and software relevant to museum work is desirable
