Role Overview

The Department of Laupus Library at East Carolina University is currently seeking a Federal Work Study Graduate Student Assistant to support the History Collections. This position will involve various activities and tasks in collaboration with the Archivist and other library staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the management, preservation, and cataloging of historical documents and materials within the collections.
• Conduct research and prepare reports on collection items as needed.
• Support archival activities such as digitization, data entry, and metadata creation.
• Provide reference assistance to patrons seeking information from the History Collections.
• Participate in special projects related to the ongoing development and maintenance of the collections.

What We're Looking For

• A current graduate student with federal work-study eligibility.
• Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with archival practices and digital preservation techniques is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in a library or archives setting is beneficial.
