Position Summary

Work centers on transportation corridors and water resource systems at the local, state, and federal levels. Day-to-day activity ties into projects involving roadways, bridges, highways, interchanges, bicycle and pedestrian routes, flood-control features, stormwater facilities, levees, pump stations, and private development sites. The Biologist helps generate practical responses to environmental conditions so these projects can move forward responsibly throughout the region and statewide.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete biological field surveys on active and proposed project sites
• Prepare clear written documentation that records survey methods, observations, and results
• Supply environmental support and guidance while construction is underway
• Contribute biological input to transportation and water-resource planning packages
• Assist with materials needed for initiatives funded by local, state, or federal sources

• Three to seven years of experience in a comparable Biologist or environmental-planner role
• Proven skill conducting biological field surveys and accurately logging findings
