Action Officer

Nwis is hiring an Action Officer for our Arlington, VA office to coordinate project execution, manage critical initiatives, and ensure organizational objectives are met on schedule. This full-time position is ideal for someone who thrives on keeping multiple priorities aligned and teams moving forward.

About the Role

The Action Officer role is central to operational excellence at Nwis. You'll be responsible for translating organizational strategy into concrete results, serving as the connective tissue between leadership vision and on-the-ground execution. Working from our Arlington headquarters, you'll track progress on key initiatives, remove obstacles, and keep all stakeholders informed and accountable. This is a role for someone who takes pride in making sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle and who enjoys the satisfaction of seeing projects through to completion.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on the status of assigned action items, projects, and organizational priorities
• Schedule and coordinate meetings between internal teams and external partners
• Prepare comprehensive status reports, briefings, and documentation for executive review
• Follow up with stakeholders and task owners to track progress and address delays
• Maintain detailed records of decisions, action items, deadlines, and accountability measures
• Support the planning, launch, and execution of strategic initiatives and campaigns
• Identify risks, escalate issues, and coordinate solutions across departments

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and meet multiple deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to brief senior leadership clearly
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams or managing projects in a professional environment
• Comfort with project management software, spreadsheets, databases, and standard business tools
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all deliverables
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience demonstrating readiness for this level of responsibility
