Senior Software Engineer 1

Modmed is hiring a Senior Software Engineer 1 to join its engineering team in Hyderabad, India. This is a full-time position for an experienced software engineer ready to lead technical work and drive product development at scale.

About This Position

As a Senior Software Engineer 1 at Modmed in Hyderabad, you will own significant portions of the platform's architecture and implementation. You'll be expected to design scalable solutions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to core product development that impacts how healthcare organisations operate. This role requires both hands-on coding expertise and the ability to guide technical direction across the team.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components that form the backbone of the product
• Review code from team members and provide constructive technical feedback
• Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical debt within the system
• Participate in architectural discussions and help define engineering standards
• Debug complex issues and improve system reliability and resilience
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the engineering team

What You Bring

• Demonstrated expertise in software development with several years of professional experience
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages and willingness to learn others as needed
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Experience with version control systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Track record of delivering systems that work reliably at scale
• Commitment to writing maintainable, well-documented code
