Full Stack Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential HealthTech SaaS organization in Berlin that is transforming how mental health professionals manage their practice. Our client is a market-leading scale-up in the DACH region, and we're seeking a Full Stack Engineer who thrives on end-to-end ownership and technical autonomy.

This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, with fully remote arrangements possible for exceptional candidates. You'll work directly with the CTO and founders, shipping features that have immediate, measurable impact on therapeutic care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own features end to end—from problem definition through architecture, implementation, release, and post-release support, across both frontend and backend
• Make technical decisions independently, from library selection to feature architecture, and defend those decisions when challenged
• Integrate AI capabilities into production systems, building dependable features around probabilistic outputs using LLM application engineering
• Build real-time features with WebSocket-based live capabilities where latency directly impacts user experience
• Ship on desktop and mobile platforms, working with Electron (main and renderer architecture, native OS integration, auto-update, offline-first behaviour) and React Native
• Iterate rapidly with continuous deployment and short cycles while maintaining design controls and traceable test evidence for EU MDR compliance
• Take initiative by creating tickets and implementing them end-to-end without waiting for specifications

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Genuinely full-stack experience: strong React and TypeScript on the frontend, plus real backend work including API design, data modelling, relational databases, and async/background processing
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven track record shipping software that real users depend on, with experience supporting it in production
• Strong debugging skills across the entire stack—you find root causes rather than guess at solutions
• Demonstrated autonomy: you identify what needs doing, decide on approach, and ship without constant oversight
• Empathy for end users and curiosity about their domain—our client's users are therapists under time pressure
• Clear written English (B2 minimum) and comfort working asynchronously
• Excellence-driven mindset with strong ambition and domain curiosity

Highly Valued:

• LLM application engineering: evaluation, prompt pipelines, agent tooling, latency and cost optimisation
• Electron or another desktop platform, including distribution, code signing, and auto-update mechanisms
• React Native experience with App Store and Play Store publishing
• Audio processing, transcription, or other real-time media handling
• Healthcare, GDPR-heavy, or other regulated environment experience
• German language skills (user-facing materials and support are in German)
