Role Overview
As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you'll deliver client-centered occupational therapy services to children, with a focus on meaningful engagement and functional independence. You'll work within a practice model that prioritizes authentic connections with families, individualizes each child's care pathway, and uses play as a core therapeutic tool. Your work will directly support children's development across motor, sensory, cognitive, and adaptive skills—helping them thrive in daily activities at home, school, and in their community.
Core Duties
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, assessing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and functional performance
- Design and implement individualized, play-based treatment plans tailored to each child's strengths, needs, and family goals
- Deliver direct therapy services using creative, developmentally appropriate techniques that build confidence and competence
- Partner actively with families through education, coaching, and collaborative goal-setting
- Monitor progress systematically and adapt interventions based on ongoing observation and outcome data
- Maintain thorough clinical documentation and communicate with referral sources and other professionals
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; genuine empathy for children and families
- Experience with or demonstrated commitment to play-based, strength-focused practice models
- Professional judgment, clinical reasoning, and ability to work independently within a collaborative environment
