Transmission Construction Representative – Electrical Utilities

Position Summary

As a Transmission Construction Representative (TCR), you'll serve as the owner's primary on-site representative for electrical transmission construction projects. Your core mission is to monitor contractor performance, enforce contractual obligations, and maintain rigorous safety and quality standards throughout every phase of construction activity that supports the region's power infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities

• Oversee contractor operations to verify compliance with project specifications, contract terms, and all applicable safety and environmental regulations
• Conduct regular site inspections, document work progress, and identify quality issues or non-conformances
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to industry standards across all construction activities
• Manage communication and coordination among contractors, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders
• Maintain comprehensive field records, track corrective actions, and prepare progress documentation
• Verify materials and workmanship meet specification requirements before acceptance
• Support quality assurance processes and recommend solutions to construction challenges

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical degree or construction management certification strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in electrical transmission, distribution construction, or related heavy construction
• Solid understanding of electrical utilities industry standards, OSHA regulations, and safety best practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents accurately
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions; willingness to work at heights or in challenging terrain
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Zanesville job site
