Safety Consultant LOTO

Rockford Systems is recruiting a Safety Consultant LOTO for a full-time role based in New Milford, Winnebago County. You'll directly prevent workplace incidents by helping manufacturing plants establish and refine their lockout/tagout safety systems.

What This Role Involves

As a Safety Consultant LOTO, you will serve as a trusted advisor to manufacturing and industrial operations, helping facility leaders implement and refine their lockout/tagout safety systems. Your expertise will directly reduce workplace incidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. You'll work hands-on with plant operations to assess current practices, identify gaps, and recommend proven solutions tailored to each facility's unique equipment and workflow.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Visit manufacturing plants, processing facilities, and industrial sites in the New Milford area and surrounding regions to evaluate existing safety procedures
• Partner with plant management and operations teams to assess lockout/tagout protocols and identify areas for improvement
• Develop comprehensive, site-specific shutdown procedures that guide employees through safe equipment isolation and de-energization
• Create written training materials and instructional documentation for facility staff
• Deliver hands-on training sessions to plant workers and supervisors on proper lockout/tagout techniques
• Perform post-implementation reviews and ongoing evaluations to ensure safety procedures remain effective
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of consulting activities and safety assessments

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of OSHA lockout/tagout standards (29 CFR 1910.147) and related safety regulations
• Proven experience consulting on industrial safety programs or working in manufacturing and plant safety roles
• Ability to analyze complex equipment and develop clear, practical safety procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training and technical documentation
• Comfortable working independently and building relationships with plant management and staff
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to facility sites
