Steward

Marriott Hotels Resorts is hiring a full-time Steward to support our kitchen and dining operations in Detroit, Wayne County. In this essential role, you'll maintain our facilities to the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.

What You'll Do

• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including dishwashing machines, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect kitchen work surfaces, storage areas, dining furniture, and food preparation zones
• Wash, dry, and properly store dishes, silverware, glassware, cookware, knives, and other kitchen utensils and tools
• Receive incoming deliveries and stock supplies, ensuring perishable items are stored correctly and older inventory is used first
• Organize and maintain clean serviceware in designated storage locations for kitchen and dining staff access
• Apply cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely and effectively per food safety standards

What We're Looking For

• Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning machinery
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation best practices
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive cleaning tasks
• Dependable, punctual attendance and willingness to work as part of a team
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized environment
