About the Role
At Walker Firm, PC, we specialize in empowering individuals who have faced years of waiting and repeated benefit denials. As a Social Security Disability Hearing Attorney, you'll work with clients at the most consequential stage of their claims. A favorable hearing decision opens the door to vital medical care, financial stability, and the dignity of recognition that their disabilities prevent them from working.
What You'll Do
- Prepare clients thoroughly for Social Security Administration hearings, ensuring they understand the process and feel confident presenting their case
- Review case files, medical records, and prior denials to identify and build compelling arguments for why benefits should be approved
- Present evidence and legal arguments at hearings with persuasive oral advocacy on behalf of your clients
- Cross-examine expert witnesses and challenge questionable medical or vocational assessments
- File written briefs and post-hearing submissions that strengthen your clients' positions
- Maintain regular communication with clients, explaining developments and next steps in plain language
- Collaborate with medical and vocational experts to develop the strongest possible case presentation
What We're Looking For
- JD and admission to the California State Bar
- Demonstrated experience representing clients in Social Security Disability or similar benefits hearings
- Strong oral advocacy skills and courtroom presence
- Ability to master complex medical and vocational evidence quickly
- Genuine commitment to serving underrepresented and vulnerable populations
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented approach to case management and documentation
