As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic with Rush Enterprises, you'll be a trusted field expert serving commercial trucking fleets throughout Champaign County. You'll travel to customer locations to diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty diesel engines and truck systems, building lasting relationships while delivering the quality workmanship Rush Enterprises is known for in the industry.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on commercial diesel trucks and fleet vehicles at customer job sites
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and hands-on expertise
- Execute repairs and system replacements to keep customer fleets operating at peak performance
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for each job and customer
- Coordinate with fleet managers and customers to schedule service calls and communicate repair needs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices in all field work
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or diesel technician on heavy-duty commercial vehicles
- Current certification in diesel engine repair or related diesel service disciplines
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with diesel powertrains and engine systems
- Ability to work independently at customer locations while maintaining professional communication
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between service locations in Champaign County
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction
