About the Role
SAR Academy & SAR High School, a co-educational Modern Orthodox day school located in Riverdale, invites a dedicated STEM educator to help shape curious minds and foster a genuine love of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This full-time position offers the chance to design engaging curriculum and guide students through hands-on discovery in a supportive, values-centered learning environment.
What You'll Do
- Create and deliver STEM lessons that connect science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across elementary and middle school grade levels
- Develop engaging, hands-on learning activities and projects that build critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate STEM concepts across disciplines and grade levels
- Maintain a well-organized classroom and lab environment that supports experimentation and discovery
- Foster a growth mindset and encourage students to embrace challenges, curiosity, and innovation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, education, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- New York State teaching certification or eligibility for certification
- Demonstrated passion for teaching science, technology, engineering, or mathematics to young learners
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts accessibly
- Experience designing and implementing inquiry-based, student-centered lessons
- Commitment to differentiated instruction and supporting diverse learners
- Alignment with the mission and values of a faith-based, co-educational school community
