Hospitality Interior Designer

Join Stantec in The Loop, Chicago as a full-time Hospitality Interior Designer, where you'll shape immersive guest experiences for luxury hotels, resorts, dining establishments, and hospitality venues. You'll work on collaborative teams that bring together architects, engineers, and sustainability experts to design spaces that balance visual excellence, functional performance, and environmental responsibility.

About the Role

As a Hospitality Interior Designer at Stantec, you'll develop compelling interior environments from initial concept through construction delivery. You'll contribute to projects where design strategy directly influences guest satisfaction and operational success. Working within integrated design teams, you'll ensure that your interior concepts align seamlessly with architectural vision, engineering requirements, and regulatory standards—all while prioritizing sustainable materials and practices that reduce environmental footprint.

What You'll Do

• Create interior design concepts and spatial planning for guest rooms, lobbies, restaurants, bars, and public areas
• Develop detailed drawings, material palettes, lighting plans, and finish specifications
• Partner with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate design solutions with structural systems and building codes
• Select and specify furnishings, fixtures, textiles, and finishes within project parameters and brand guidelines
• Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, incorporating feedback throughout the design process
• Coordinate with consultants and vendors to maintain design quality and standards through construction administration
• Apply sustainable design strategies that enhance both guest comfort and environmental performance

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related design discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• Portfolio demonstrating hospitality or commercial interior design projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of hospitality design standards, accessibility codes, and sustainable design practices
• Strong presentation and communication abilities for diverse audiences
• Collaborative approach to complex, multidisciplinary project teams
• Ability to prioritize and deliver across concurrent projects in a dynamic studio
