About the Role

As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) with United Rentals, you'll work on a variety of diesel-powered equipment in real-world job sites and customer locations. Your expertise will ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime for our clients, supporting their operations and project timelines.

What You'll Do

• Conduct on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on diesel engines and related mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot varied equipment issues using diagnostic tools and technical knowledge
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life and prevent breakdowns
• Inspect equipment components for wear, damage, and safety compliance
• Document all service work, parts used, and time spent on each repair in company systems
• Work safely in outdoor and field conditions, following all safety protocols and procedures
• Coordinate with dispatchers and customers to schedule service calls and manage priorities

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools with confidence
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
