Speech Pathologist

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Concordville seeks a Speech Pathologist to join our clinical team in Ivyland, Bucks County. This part-time position offers the opportunity to deliver specialized communication and swallowing care to patients recovering from serious illnesses, injuries, and surgical procedures.

About the Role

You'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and nurses to restore function and independence in patients across our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Your expertise in speech and language pathology will directly shape patient recovery outcomes in a setting where your clinical skills are essential and highly valued.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate patients to assess speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders using evidence-based clinical protocols
• Create individualized treatment plans aligned with each patient's rehabilitation goals and medical status
• Deliver direct therapy for dysarthria, aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, and related conditions
• Manage patients with complex swallowing disorders and provide dysphagia intervention and education
• Collaborate with the care team on integrated rehabilitation strategies and patient discharge planning
• Maintain detailed, accurate clinical documentation and communicate progress with referring physicians and family members
• Train patients and caregivers on communication techniques and safety precautions for home management

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or current pursuit of certification
• Pennsylvania state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Clinical experience in hospital or inpatient rehabilitation settings preferred
• Proficiency in dysphagia assessment and swallowing treatment
• Strong documentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care
