Role Overview
As Set Builder, you'll be the hands-on technical expert executing scenic construction for our theatrical production. You'll work closely with the production team to bring theatrical visions to life through skilled carpentry, construction, and artistic finishing. Your expertise will ensure that every scene is visually compelling while meeting safety and durability standards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Construct scenic elements from design specifications and blueprints
- Install and position sets on stage for rehearsals and performances
- Paint, finish, and detail theatrical pieces to match production requirements
- Collaborate with the director, scenic designer, and technical crew
- Maintain sets throughout the rehearsal and performance schedule
- Repair and troubleshoot sets to address wear and damage
- Follow all safety protocols when using tools and materials
Qualifications
- Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret design specifications
