Tax Senior Manager / Principal

HCVT is seeking a Tax Senior Manager / Principal to join its growing practice in Lehi, Utah County, where you will lead complex tax engagements and mentor a team of professionals.

About the Role

In this position you will oversee a portfolio of corporate, partnership, and individual tax clients, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while identifying planning opportunities. You will partner with senior leadership to develop service offerings and contribute to firm-wide initiatives that enhance technical excellence and client service.

What You'll Do

• Manage and review tax returns for a diverse client base, including C‑corps, S‑corps, LLCs, and high‑net‑worth individuals.
• Supervise senior associates and staff, providing guidance on technical questions and career development.
• Lead tax provision work, state and local tax analyses, and international tax considerations as needed.
• Identify and communicate tax planning strategies that align with client business objectives.
• Participate in business development activities, including client meetings, proposals, and industry presentations.
• Stay current with legislative changes and firm methodology, sharing updates through internal training sessions.

What We're Looking For

• CPA license or equivalent credential, with a minimum of seven years of progressive tax experience.
• Strong background in corporate and partnership taxation, preferably within a public accounting or consulting environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax concepts to clients and team members.
• Leadership experience, including mentoring junior staff and driving performance improvements.
• Proficiency with tax research software and standard accounting platforms (e.g., CCH, Thomson Reuters, UltraTax).
