Plata Card
Plata is launching its card business in Colombia, and physical card logistics is a critical enabler of that launch. Payment cards travel a long chain — from the manufacturer, through partner warehouses, our own central warehouse, regional postal hubs and a field network of ambassadors — before they reach the client. The Inventory Manager is the single accountable owner of this chain, making sure every card is tracked, reconciled and accounted for at every link.
The Inventory Manager is responsible for:
- Owning end-to-end inventory control of payment cards across all nodes of the Colombian logistics chain — the Plata central warehouse, the postal partner networks, regional hubs and ambassador stock points.
- Coordinating inbound shipments from the manufacturer and inter-warehouse transfers, verifying every movement against packing/transfer lists and partner system records.
- Planning and triggering replenishment of regional hubs and ambassador stock points based on demand forecasts and reconciled balances, ensuring uninterrupted card availability.
- Running the weekly cross-node stock reconciliation and the continuous controls (status integrity, aged-stock audits, cyclic inventories) that keep system records and physical stock aligned.
- Placing and supervising service orders with the third-party warehouse operator (receiving, storage, pallet opening, box scanning, picking, dispatch) under strict segregation of duties.
- Signing, receiving, transfer and handover documents on behalf of Plata and preparing reconciliations and supporting documents for accounting.
- Acting as the initiating and coordinating party for all loss/incident claims with partners — preserving evidence and escalating to the Head of Operations.
- Acting as the point of communication with the postal partners on client-side delivery incidents: at the request of the incidents team, relaying their queries to the relevant postal service and passing responses back.
- Accounting for ambassador branded merchandise and equipment, including issuance and custody records.
Challenges that await you:
- Building and stabilizing the inventory control process from scratch as part of a market launch — you’ll be running the chain while it’s still being shaped.
- Coordinating several external parties at once — the card manufacturer, two postal/logistics partners with different systems and SLAs, a 3PL warehouse operator and an internal ambassador network.
- Keeping records accurate in a model where partner systems track stock only at pack level — designing your control routines so discrepancies surface fast through reconciliation and audits instead of going unnoticed.
- Balancing tight operational windows (receiving slots, notification windows, same-day dispatch) against forecast-driven replenishment so no node ever runs dry.
What makes you a great fit:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in inventory management, warehouse/logistics operations or supply chain control, ideally with high-value or controlled goods — enough seniority to own this chain end to end.
- Be based in Bogotá, Colombia (the role is on-site at the central warehouse).
- Strong command of WMS/inventory systems and a structured, reconciliation-driven approach to keeping physical and system stock aligned.
- Meticulous attention to detail and documentary discipline — you’re comfortable being the person who signs off and is accountable for accuracy.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple external vendors and internal stakeholders and to drive incident resolution end to end.
- Comfortable working on-site at the central warehouse and coordinating remotely with partners and field teams.
- Professional Spanish and English.
Our ways of working:
- Innovative Spirit: A commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions.
- Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication.
- Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community.
- Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together.
- High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances.
