About the Role
This Tier 2 support position puts you at the center of VistA system operations. You'll provide the technical leadership and subject matter expertise that Tier 1 teams depend on for complex infrastructure challenges. In a fully remote capacity, you'll support mission-critical healthcare IT systems for federal operations.
What You'll Do
- Resolve advanced technical issues in VistA environments that exceed Tier 1 support capabilities
- Conduct root-cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and integration problems
- Design and implement technical solutions for application administration and infrastructure optimization
- Mentor and guide Tier 1 support team members to improve organizational technical capability
- Collaborate with development and architecture teams on system improvements and incident resolution
- Proactively monitor system health and implement preventive maintenance and optimization measures
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge resources for the support organization
- Lead incident response and emergency technical support for mission-critical system outages
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level knowledge of VistA system administration, configuration, and technical troubleshooting
- Proven track record independently diagnosing and resolving complex IT infrastructure problems
- Understanding of healthcare IT operations, security requirements, and regulatory compliance
- Strong communication skills for technical documentation, team coordination, and stakeholder interaction
- Experience mentoring and supporting less-experienced technical team members
- U.S. suitability and/or public trust clearance eligibility
