About the Role
As an Emergency Room Nurse at Manchester Memorial Hospital, you'll provide direct care to patients experiencing acute and life-threatening conditions. You'll combine clinical expertise with compassion, making rapid assessments and working collaboratively with physicians and specialists to stabilize patients and guide them through crisis moments.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor patients with urgent and emergent medical conditions
- Administer medications and coordinate treatments under physician supervision
- Perform triage, obtain vital signs, and support diagnostic procedures
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff
- Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation
- Respond to emergency codes and critical interventions
- Uphold infection control standards and patient safety protocols
What We're Looking For
- Current Connecticut RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Strong clinical judgment and assessment abilities
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Clear communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
- Dedication to evidence-based practice and safety
Scheduling and Benefits
This full-time position offers scheduling flexibility with 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts available across all hours. Ideal candidates are available for approximately 1–2 shifts per week, allowing you to balance professional growth with other commitments.
