EMS of Virginia is hiring a full-time QMHP Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Clinician based in Midlothian, Chesterfield County. In this community-based role, you'll provide crisis intervention and mental health stabilization services throughout the greater Richmond area, including Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Petersburg, Hanover, and surrounding communities.
About the Role
As a Crisis Stabilization Mental Health Clinician, you'll respond to mental health emergencies across the Richmond region. This community-based position places you at the front lines of crisis intervention, where your clinical expertise helps stabilize individuals in acute distress and connects them with appropriate ongoing care and resources.
What You'll Do
- Assess and stabilize individuals experiencing mental health crises in community settings
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations to determine appropriate interventions
- Employ de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to maintain safety
- Coordinate with emergency services, hospitals, and community mental health providers
- Document all clinical contacts and outcomes per regulatory and organizational standards
- Connect individuals with follow-up care and community mental health resources
- Maintain accurate, detailed clinical records
What We're Looking For
- Active Board of Counseling registration as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
- Experience in crisis intervention and mental health assessment
- Strong de-escalation and clinical communication skills
- Ability to work independently in community-based settings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Dedication to supporting individuals and families experiencing mental health crises
