About the Role
As Employment Counsel at Reyes Holdings, you'll serve as a trusted legal resource for HR professionals and business leaders navigating employment law challenges. You'll advise on the full spectrum of workplace legal matters, helping the organization build compliant, fair, and effective employment practices while managing legal risk.
What You'll Do
- Advise HR and management on employment discipline, performance management, and employee relations matters
- Provide guidance on hiring practices, background checks, drug testing protocols, and compliance with screening regulations
- Counsel on wage and hour law, classification issues, overtime, and compensation practices
- Draft and review employment policies, handbooks, and other HR documentation to ensure legal compliance
- Address non-discrimination and harassment prevention, including investigation support and remediation
- Mitigate legal risk by identifying and resolving employment law compliance gaps
- Support severance, separation, and termination decisions with sound legal analysis
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree and good standing with a state bar
- Substantial experience in employment law, employment litigation, or HR legal counsel
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law, labor regulations, and workplace compliance
- Ability to distill complex legal issues into practical business guidance
- Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating across organizational levels
- Proactive mindset focused on risk prevention and legal strategy
