About the Role

The Rider New Products team is responsible for creating breakthrough experiences that define the next generation of Lyft's core platform. As a Senior Data Scientist in this group, you'll lead analytical strategy for high-impact product initiatives from conception through launch and optimization. Your work will directly influence how riders interact with Lyft and the measurable outcomes that matter most to the business.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement statistical models to evaluate product hypotheses and forecast user behavior
• Conduct exploratory analysis on large-scale datasets to uncover growth opportunities and product friction points
• Partner with product managers and engineers to define metrics, run experiments, and interpret results that inform strategic decisions
• Develop dashboards and reporting infrastructure to track product performance and KPIs in real time
• Mentor junior data scientists and establish best practices for analytical rigor across the team
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics, with demonstrated impact on product decisions at scale
• Expert proficiency in SQL, Python, or equivalent languages for data manipulation and modeling
• Strong foundation in statistics and experimental design, including A/B testing and causal inference methods
• Proven ability to work across technical and non-technical teams to translate data into actionable strategy
• Experience with large datasets, cloud data platforms, and modern analytics tools
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for solving ambiguous problems with data
