About the Role
As Transmission Department Manager for the Southeast Region, you will oversee departmental operations, guide a talented team of engineers and technical professionals, and ensure the successful execution of transmission-related projects. This position bridges technical expertise with people leadership, requiring a strategic mindset and hands-on management capability.
What You'll Do
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams including new graduates, interns, transfers, and contract professionals
- Provide coaching and performance feedback that fosters professional growth and accountability
- Partner with Human Resources and Recruiting to identify and attract skilled talent aligned with departmental needs
- Oversee technical project delivery and quality standards across the Southeast Region
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and regional leaders
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
- Technical background in transmission systems, electrical engineering, or related field
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain talent
- Strong project management and operational planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strategic thinking combined with hands-on problem-solving
- Experience in the energy, utility, or infrastructure sectors preferred
