In this position, you'll be instrumental in navigating the intricate landscape of utility regulation, managing high-impact submissions to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state Public Utility Commissions. This role demands both regulatory depth and meticulous project oversight to ensure timely, compliant filings that advance the company's transmission and infrastructure goals.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, coordinate, and submit comprehensive regulatory filings to FERC and state regulatory bodies on transmission projects, rate cases, and tariff matters
- Develop and execute regulatory strategies aligned with company objectives and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, finance, and operations to gather data and support filings
- Monitor regulatory developments, rule changes, and commission orders affecting transmission operations and planning
- Manage project timelines, stakeholder communication, and compliance deadlines for multiple concurrent proceedings
- Research regulatory precedent and identify opportunities for favorable outcomes in contested matters
- Represent the company's interests through written submissions, testimony preparation, and technical support to regulatory proceedings
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in utility regulatory affairs, FERC compliance, or transmission regulation
- Strong knowledge of federal energy law, FERC orders, and state utility commission procedures
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle multiple high-stakes filings
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory concepts into clear, persuasive written submissions
- Proficiency with regulatory databases, filing systems, and utility industry tools
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, law, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
