RN – Surgical Med/Surg (Weekend)

Join Carle Health as a Registered Nurse on our Surgical Medical unit in Vets Row, Peoria County. This full-time weekend position offers you the opportunity to deliver skilled nursing care to patients in a collaborative healthcare environment, applying evidence-based practice and the nursing process to support patient recovery and outcomes.

About the Role

As an RN in our Surgical Medical department, you'll provide direct patient care on a weekend schedule, working as a core member of our interdisciplinary clinical team. You'll partner with physicians, specialists, and support staff to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, compassionate care tailored to their individual needs and treatment goals.

What You'll Do

• Assess patient conditions and implement personalized nursing care plans using the nursing process
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage post-operative recovery and wound care
• Communicate clinical findings and patient progress with the healthcare team
• Educate patients and families about recovery, treatment protocols, and discharge planning
• Maintain detailed, accurate patient records and documentation
• Support safe patient mobility, comfort measures, and infection prevention protocols

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Strong knowledge of surgical and medical nursing practices and patient care principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
• Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and compassionate care
