Clinical Laboratory Director & Vice President, Translational and Computational Pathology

Sonder Research X is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Director and Vice President of Translational and Computational Pathology to lead our laboratory operations and drive innovation in cancer diagnostic development. Based in North Brunswick, Middlesex County, this full-time leadership position sits at the intersection of clinical laboratory management, translational research, and cutting-edge computational pathology.

About the Role

As Clinical Laboratory Director and Vice President of Translational and Computational Pathology, you will oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of our clinical laboratory while advancing our translational research initiatives. You'll be responsible for implementing and optimizing diagnostic workflows that combine traditional laboratory science with computational and data-driven pathology approaches. This role offers the opportunity to shape how we integrate emerging technologies into clinical practice while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage all aspects of clinical laboratory operations, including personnel, budgets, and quality systems
• Oversee the development and validation of translational diagnostic assays and computational pathology platforms
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory requirements governing clinical laboratories
• Direct clinical reporting and interpretation of diagnostic results
• Foster collaboration between laboratory, research, and clinical teams to accelerate diagnostic innovation
• Implement quality assurance and quality control protocols
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and methodologies into laboratory practice
• Mentor and develop laboratory staff and research teams

What We're Looking For

• MD or PhD in Pathology, with significant clinical laboratory leadership experience
• Proven expertise in translational pathology and computational approaches to diagnostics
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory regulations and accreditation standards
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced, collaborative environments
• Track record of innovation in diagnostic technology development or implementation
• Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills
