Join Maury County Public Schools as the Head Girls Soccer Coach for our Fort Wayne program, located in Allen County. This is a full-time coaching position dedicated to building a competitive, character-driven girls soccer team while fostering student-athlete development both on and off the field.
About the Role
As our Head Girls Soccer Coach, you'll lead all aspects of the program—from preseason conditioning and technical skill development to in-game strategy and postseason competition. You'll work directly with student-athletes in a high school setting, managing practices, coordinating matches, and representing Maury County Public Schools in the local athletic community. This role demands a coach who can balance competitive excellence with the developmental needs of young athletes.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute daily practices focused on fundamental soccer skills, tactical awareness, and team cohesion
- Design conditioning programs that prepare athletes for competitive play and promote long-term fitness
- Prepare the team for games through strategic planning, opponent analysis, and tactical adjustments
- Provide individual coaching, feedback, and mentorship to develop each player's strengths and confidence
- Maintain consistent, fair discipline and clear communication standards within the team environment
- Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, and school staff to support the program
- Respond to injuries and medical situations using current first aid protocols and judgment
- Maintain certification and stay current with coaching best practices and soccer fundamentals
What We're Looking For
- Deep knowledge of soccer fundamentals and modern coaching techniques
- Proven experience coaching girls soccer, ideally at the high school level
- Strong communication skills—clear expectations, constructive feedback, and open dialogue with players and families
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and improving your coaching craft
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain it)
- Ability to lead with firm, consistent discipline while building trust with young athletes
- Passion for developing both athletic talent and character in student-athletes
