New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) – Nurse Residency Program Spring/Summer 2026- Main Medical Center

UVA Health invites newly licensed Registered Nurses to launch their healthcare careers with our Nurse Residency Program at the Main Medical Center in Macon, Bibb County. This full-time, structured transition program is designed specifically for recent nursing graduates to build clinical confidence, develop evidence-based nursing practice, and become fully competent members of our interdisciplinary care teams.

About the Role

As a resident nurse in our program, you'll work alongside experienced mentors to deliver direct patient care in our medical center. This is a carefully guided entry into professional nursing practice, where you'll gain real-world clinical experience while meeting the professional milestones that define nursing excellence. The program spans the spring and summer of 2026, providing comprehensive support as you transition from new graduate to confident, independent practitioner.

What You'll Do

• Deliver compassionate, safe patient care under the guidance of a dedicated preceptor or mentor
• Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond to changing patient needs
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate, detailed documentation in our electronic health record systems
• Partner with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute comprehensive treatment plans
• Apply evidence-based clinical practices in all patient care decisions and interventions
• Complete structured educational modules and participate in professional development sessions
• Uphold rigorous standards for patient safety, infection control, and quality care

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current, unrestricted RN license
• Genuine passion for patient care and commitment to professional growth
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and embrace clinical mentorship
• Dedication to mastering evidence-based clinical practice
