Ro Health is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time 1:1 school nursing position serving students in Wilmington, New Hanover County. This is your opportunity to make a direct impact on student health and academic success in a specialized school health environment.
About the Role
As a 1:1 school nurse at Ro Health, you'll provide dedicated health support to a student or small group of students with complex medical, developmental, or special education needs. This role combines clinical nursing care with patient advocacy in an educational setting, supporting both the student's health and their ability to learn and thrive during the school day.
What You'll Do
- Administer medications and manage health protocols according to physician orders and school requirements
- Monitor vital signs and student health status throughout the day
- Respond to acute health situations and provide emergency care as needed
- Maintain detailed health records and communicate with families, teachers, and healthcare providers
- Implement individualized health care plans (IHCPs) and coordinate with special education teams
- Support pediatric and special education needs in alignment with each student's unique requirements
- Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a safe, healthy environment
What We're Looking For
- Active North Carolina LPN license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric or school health nursing
- Ability to work independently and build rapport with students and families
- Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail in medication and health management
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to confidentiality
