About the Role
As an Ultrasound Technologist PRN at St. David's South Austin Medical Center, you'll perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations using advanced imaging technology. You'll work as part of our clinical team at a leading healthcare facility within HCA Healthcare, the nation's premier provider of healthcare services, supporting quality patient outcomes through skilled diagnostic work.
What You'll Do
- Perform ultrasound examinations across multiple specialty areas using diagnostic imaging equipment
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain protocols, and ensure comfort and safety throughout imaging
- Operate ultrasound systems while applying sound physics principles to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Record patient information and ultrasound findings with precision and accuracy
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment according to established clinical protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and clinical staff to support patient diagnosis and care
- Follow imaging protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance requirements
What We're Looking For
- Current RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or equivalent credential
- Demonstrated experience performing ultrasound examinations across multiple clinical areas
- Strong foundation in ultrasound physics, equipment operation, and patient safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Commitment to clinical accuracy, detailed documentation, and quality standards
- Flexibility to work varying schedules in a PRN capacity
- Current state licensure in Texas
