Special Education Teacher – Early Rise (Therapeutic Program)

Nashoba Regional School District in Stow, Middlesex County, is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to lead the Early Rise Therapeutic Program. In this role, you'll deliver specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs while fostering meaningful progress and growth in a supportive, therapeutic environment.

About the Role

The Early Rise Therapeutic Program serves students requiring intensive academic and behavioral support within a structured, nurturing setting. As the Special Education Teacher, you'll design and deliver instruction that meets individual student needs, monitor student progress, and adapt teaching strategies based on ongoing assessment and observation.

What You'll Do

• Create and teach lessons aligned with state curriculum standards and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Implement evidence-based instructional strategies that engage students and build academic skills
• Assess student learning through ongoing formative and summative assessments
• Collaborate with special education colleagues, general education staff, counselors, and administrators to coordinate student support
• Communicate progress regularly with families and participate in IEP development and review meetings
• Participate in professional development, team planning, and school-wide initiatives
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes student well-being
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records

What We're Looking For

• Massachusetts special education teacher certification (or eligibility)
• Strong knowledge of special education law, IEPs, and accommodations
• Experience teaching students with varying disabilities and learning profiles
• Excellent classroom management and de-escalation skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to inclusive practices and student-centered education
• Professional demeanor and flexibility in a school setting
