About the Role

As a Tax Manager within EY's Indirect Tax Sales & Use Lookback Review Center of Excellence in Phoenix, you'll lead engagements that identify recoverable sales and use tax for clients across industries. This is an opportunity to apply deep technical knowledge, guide high-performing teams, and deliver measurable value while building lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sales and use tax lookback review projects from planning through final delivery.
• Analyze client transactions and records to surface overpayments and refund opportunities.
• Research and interpret multistate indirect tax rules to support accurate, defensible conclusions.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members on engagement teams.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients and collaborate with broader EY tax practices.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and compliance throughout every phase of the review.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in indirect tax, specifically sales and use tax.
• Strong understanding of multistate tax regulations and lookback review methodology.
• Proven ability to manage projects, deadlines, and engagement teams effectively.
• Excellent analytical, research, and client communication skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Phoenix (this position is not remote).
