About the Role

As a Field Crew Chief specializing in residential land surveying, you will take ownership of field operations for one of the country's leading land surveying firms. Based in Jacksonville, this full-time, on-site position places you at the front line of producing accurate, timely survey deliverables that property owners, builders, and real estate professionals depend on. You will guide a field crew, manage daily project workflow, and uphold the precision standards that define quality residential surveys.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a residential survey field crew on day-to-day assignments
• Operate and maintain modern surveying instruments to gather precise field measurements
• Carry out boundary, lot, and residential property surveys with consistent accuracy
• Interpret plats, deeds, and related documentation to inform fieldwork
• Plan daily routes and tasks to meet client deadlines and delivery commitments
• Verify the quality and completeness of collected data before it reaches the office team
• Promote a safe, organized, and productive job-site environment

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in land surveying, ideally within residential projects
• Working knowledge of survey equipment such as GPS units, total stations, and data collectors
• Proven ability to lead a crew and coordinate field activities effectively
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, on-time results
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Jacksonville area
• Comfortable working outdoors across varying conditions and terrain
