About the Role
As the Varsity Boys & Girls Golf Coach for Colchester School District, you will direct every facet of the golf program throughout the sport's season. Working closely with the Athletic Director, you will create a positive, disciplined, and skill-building environment for both the boys' and girls' teams. This is an annual appointment for the length of the season being coached, classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, with compensation set according to the district's Master Contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all coaching duties tied to the varsity golf program, including the boys' and girls' teams.
- Partner with the Athletic Director to align team activities with district athletic policies and goals.
- Plan and run practices, matches, and team logistics for the duration of the golf season.
- Promote sportsmanship, academic accountability, and the personal growth of each student-athlete.
- Manage equipment, scheduling, and player safety throughout competition and training.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of golf instruction, strategy, and competitive play.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to the development and well-being of high school athletes.
- Willingness to coordinate closely with district athletic leadership.
- Any certifications or clearances required by the district and state for interscholastic coaching.
