Assistant/Associate/Clinical Professor of PA Studies

The University of the Pacific is seeking a dedicated educator and clinician to join its Physician Assistant Studies faculty as an Assistant, Associate, or Clinical Professor of PA Studies in Stockton, San Joaquin County. This full, on-campus appointment offers an opportunity to shape the next generation of healthcare providers.

About the Role

As an Assistant/Associate/Clinical Professor of PA Studies, you will contribute to a respected PA program by combining teaching, mentorship, and clinical insight. The position is based in Stockton, California, and is a full-time, in-person role rather than remote, allowing for close collaboration with students, faculty, and clinical partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction within the PA Studies curriculum.
• Advise and mentor PA students throughout their academic and professional development.
• Participate in curriculum design, assessment, and ongoing program improvement.
• Draw on real-world clinical expertise to connect coursework to patient-centered practice.
• Support departmental, service, and scholarly activities consistent with the appointment rank.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program, an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, or an MD/DO program.
• A master's degree in PA studies or a related discipline.
• Current NCCPA certification, or the equivalent discipline-specific national certification.
• Active California state licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state.
• At least one year of clinical practice experience as a PA, NP, or MD/DO.

Preferred: A Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree is considered an advantage among additional preferred qualifications.
