Resident Advocate (Wednesday-Saturday, Graveyard, 12am – 8am )

Insight Housing is hiring a full-time Resident Advocate in Berkeley, Alameda County to support residents during overnight graveyard shifts and help keep our housing community safe, stable, and welcoming.

About the Role

As a Resident Advocate with Insight Housing, you will be the steady overnight presence that residents rely on as they rebuild their lives. Working the Wednesday through Saturday graveyard schedule from 12am to 8am (32 hours per week), you will monitor the site, respond to resident needs, and maintain a secure, supportive environment throughout the night. This on-site position in Berkeley pays $25 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, compassionate support to residents during overnight hours.
• Monitor the facility to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of everyone on site.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to resident questions, concerns, and emergencies as they arise.
• Document overnight activity, incidents, and observations for the daytime team.
• Help uphold community guidelines and foster a respectful, welcoming atmosphere.
• Coordinate with staff and outside services when additional assistance is required.

Qualifications

• Willingness and reliability to work the Wednesday–Saturday 12am–8am graveyard shift in Berkeley.
• A genuine commitment to serving people experiencing homelessness with dignity and patience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in sensitive situations.
• The ability to stay alert, level-headed, and dependable during overnight hours.
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a supportive team.
