The City of Frederick is hiring a Seasonal Helper-Parks Maintenance team member to help keep our parks, grounds, and recreational spaces green, safe, and welcoming throughout the busy season at the Hood College site in Frederick County.
About the Role
As a Seasonal Helper-Parks Maintenance worker with The City of Frederick, you will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Parks and take on a hands-on mix of manual and semi-skilled duties that keep City-owned parks and outdoor areas in top condition. This full-time, on-site position in Frederick County is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in well-maintained public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and grass across City parks and grounds
- Sow grass seed and carry out weeding, watering, and general landscaping tasks
- Help maintain recreational areas so they stay clean, safe, and visitor-ready
- Perform a range of manual and semi-skilled groundskeeping work under the direction of parks supervisors
- Support the broader Parks Maintenance team with seasonal upkeep projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Willingness and physical ability to perform manual, outdoor labor in varying weather conditions
- Interest in or experience with grounds, landscaping, or parks maintenance work
