About the Role
As a Tax Manager - Sales & Use (SALT) at BPM, you will guide clients through the complexities of multistate sales and use taxation. This US-based, full-time position blends technical depth with client relationship leadership, giving you the chance to shape outcomes for organizations across diverse industries while advancing your own career.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales and use tax engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Advise clients on nexus determinations, taxability questions, voluntary disclosures, and audit defense.
- Research evolving state and local tax laws and translate findings into practical, actionable guidance.
- Review returns, workpapers, and reconciliations prepared by team members.
- Build and strengthen client relationships, serving as a trusted point of contact for SALT matters.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical skill and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in state and local tax, with a focus on sales and use tax compliance and consulting.
- Strong knowledge of multistate tax regulations and the ability to interpret changing rules.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, deadlines, and client expectations simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, people-first approach.
- Leadership experience, including reviewing work and coaching team members.
