The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and reliable CDL-A Truck Drivers for our Over The Road (OTR) Dry Van division at U.S. Xpress - OTR in Daphne, Alabama. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $1.57k per week with the potential to earn higher based on experience. Solo drivers average 2,000 miles per week and can choose home time that works for them. Team drivers receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus and split an average of 5,500 miles per week at a rate of $0.72 - $0.80 CPM.
Core Duties
- Pick up and deliver freight across the United States
- Drive solo or as part of a team to meet delivery schedules
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and complete for each shipment
- Follow safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks before, during, and after trips
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any issues or delays encountered on the road
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with appropriate endorsements (dry van)
- Minimum of 1-5 months of OTR driving experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and schedules
- Able to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
- Must pass pre-employment drug test, background check, and physical exam
- Good communication skills for interacting with customers and dispatchers
