What You'll Do

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons in literacy, mathematics, science, and the arts to kindergarten students
• Implement the school's comprehensive curriculum with fidelity while adapting instruction to meet each child's needs
• Cultivate a classroom culture that is structured, joyful, and intellectually stimulating
• Monitor student progress through ongoing observation and assessment, using data to inform instructional decisions
• Support the social-emotional development of students, setting clear behavioral expectations and building strong classroom community
• Partner with families through regular communication to reinforce learning and celebrate student growth
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and school leadership to continuously improve teaching practice

What We're Looking For

• A bachelor's degree; a degree in education or early childhood development is a plus
• New York State teaching certification, or active pursuit of certification (candidates in teacher preparation programs are encouraged to apply)
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with five- and six-year-olds and a belief that every child can achieve at a high level
• Strong classroom presence, clear communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students and families
• Coachability and a growth mindset — openness to feedback, professional development, and continuous improvement
• Prior classroom or tutoring experience is valued but not required for entry-level applicants
