Role Overview

The School District of Palm Beach County in New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Middle-Level Certified School Counselor to support 6th-grade students. This full-time position requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes academic success, personal growth, and social development among students.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services to address the emotional, social, and behavioral needs of 6th-grade students
• Develop and implement prevention programs aimed at promoting student well-being and resilience
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and community partners to support a comprehensive school counseling program
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas of need
• Provide crisis intervention and support during challenging situations
• Develop and maintain accurate records and reports as required by the district and state

What You Bring

• A Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution
• A valid Middle-Level Certified School Counselor license issued by New Zealand (nationwide) (nationwide)
• At least 3 years of experience working as a school counselor, preferably with middle school-aged students
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom
