About the Role

This full‑time position supports the FS brand by maintaining tank farms that hold fertilizers, chemicals, and petroleum products. The specialist works closely with operations, agronomy, and safety teams to keep assets reliable, compliant, and ready for seasonal demand.

What You'll Do

• Conduct routine visual inspections, pressure tests, and leak checks on above‑ground and underground storage tanks.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as valve servicing, gauge calibration, and corrosion mitigation according to manufacturer and API guidelines.
• Respond to equipment alerts, troubleshoot malfunctions, and coordinate repairs with qualified contractors or internal maintenance staff.
• Maintain accurate records of tank levels, maintenance activities, and regulatory documentation in company systems.
• Assist with product receipt and dispatch operations, ensuring proper hook‑up, grounding, and spill‑prevention procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings, conduct job‑site hazard analyses, and promote best practices for environmental stewardship.
• Provide technical guidance to site personnel on tank operation limits, venting requirements, and emergency shutdown processes.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in tank technology, welding, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
• Proven experience working with bulk storage tanks for agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, or petroleum products.
• Familiarity with API 650/620 standards, NFPA 30, and OSHA process safety management requirements.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and follow technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; CDL endorsement preferred for occasional fuel deliveries.
• Excellent attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the capability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective communicator who can convey technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to workplace safety, willingness to wear required PPE, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
