Role Overview

The Barrick Africa & Middle East Team are seeking to recruit a Strategic Sourcing Specialist. This role reports to the Sourcing Manager Central AME and is responsible for leading complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and category strategy development through running formal tender processes and managing strategic suppliers.

Core Duties

• Led complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and category strategy development.
• Ran formal tender processes to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards are met.
• Managed relationships with key strategic suppliers to optimize cost and performance.
• Developed and implemented procurement strategies that align with business goals.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement roles.
• Proven track record in managing complex tender processes and supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
