Position Summary
The School District of the Chathams is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our sailing program as the Head Sailing Coach for the Spring season. This seasonal position requires a passionate coach who can inspire and develop student-athletes in the sport of sailing, fostering both skill development and team spirit.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Create a positive and inclusive training environment that encourages growth and teamwork among student-athletes <liDesign and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance students' sailing skills and techniques
- Mentor and guide student-athletes, helping them develop both on the water and in life through the sport of sailing
- Collaborate with other coaching staff and administration to ensure a cohesive and supportive program for all participants
- Evaluate and provide constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance
- Ensure compliance with school policies, safety regulations, and competitive rules
What You Bring
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in coaching sailing or a related sport at the high school level
- A strong understanding of sailing techniques, strategies, and best practices
- The ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and other staff members
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive team environment
- Passion for teaching and inspiring young athletes in the sport of sailing
