About the Role
We’re hiring a Special Claims Examiner for our Reinsurance Claims Examining team. Our mission is to recover the money Liberty is owed under reinsurance contracts. The role suits someone who enjoys complex claim analysis, contract review, financial detail work, and collaborating with internal and external partners to drive recoveries. This high-impact opportunity allows strong execution to directly contribute to the company’s bottom line.
What You'll Do
The Special Claims Examiner will manage a portfolio of ceded reinsurance claims from initial notification through final recovery and settlement, interpret treaty and facultative reinsurance contracts, prepare accurate claim notices, proofs of loss, and supporting documentation, monitor and support collecting outstanding reinsurance recoverables, investigate complex claim discrepancies, coverage questions, and collection issues, and collaborate with Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and Accounting to ensure accurate claim reporting and financial reconciliation.

- Strong technical reinsurance knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to work independently while contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives including use of AI
- Experience in managing a portfolio of ceded reinsurance claims
- Ability to interpret treaty and facultative reinsurance contracts

- Strong communication skills for working with internal stakeholders, brokers, and reinsurers
