About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher at Todd County School District, you will lead a structured, supportive classroom in Guthrie, Todd County, while delivering individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. Reporting directly to the building Principal, this position (Job Class Code 2095) works in close partnership with the Special Education Coordinator to keep the special education program running smoothly and to ensure each child is served effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain an organized, focused learning environment at all times.
- Provide regular updates to the Principal and Special Education Coordinator regarding program activities, progress, and any challenges that arise.
- Support the accurate identification and referral of students who may require special education services.
- Participate in the evaluation and placement process for students entering the program.
- Plan and adapt instruction to align with each learner's individualized goals.
Qualifications
- A current, valid Kentucky teaching certification appropriate for special education.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain classroom structure while meeting varied student needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside administrators, coordinators, and families.
- A genuine commitment to advocating for and supporting students with disabilities.
