Social Media Strategist and Content Creator

Texas A&M seeks a Social Media Strategist and Content Creator to join our Marketing Communications team in Commerce, Hunt County. About the Role

You will serve as the strategic architect and creative engine behind Texas A&M's social media presence. This role demands both strategic vision and hands-on execution—developing integrated social campaigns, producing original content, measuring impact, and continuously evolving our approach based on performance data and emerging platform trends.

What You'll Do

• Build and execute comprehensive social media strategies aligned with institutional goals and marketing priorities
• Create engaging, original content including written posts, graphics, video, and multimedia across multiple platforms
• Manage community engagement, respond to inquiries, and foster meaningful conversations with diverse audiences
• Monitor analytics, identify performance patterns, and refine tactics to increase reach, engagement, and conversions
• Partner with academic departments, student organizations, and campus leaders to identify storytelling opportunities
• Track platform updates, evaluate emerging tools, and integrate new capabilities into our social strategy
• Develop and present performance reports demonstrating the impact of social initiatives on key metrics

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience developing and executing social media strategy for an organization or institution
• Strong portfolio demonstrating original content creation and audience growth across multiple platforms
• Excellent written and visual communication skills with ability to adapt voice and tone for diverse audiences
• Hands-on expertise with social media management platforms, analytics tools, and design software
• Data literacy and ability to interpret metrics to inform strategic decisions
• Creative problem-solving and ability to innovate while maintaining brand consistency
• Strong project management and time-management skills for managing multiple concurrent initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related discipline preferred
